  1. Conservative speaker Jack Posobiec is wondering why Elizabeth Warren, in her attempt to appear normal, thanked her own husband for being at his own house..

Jack Posobiec: “After Warren went to “get me a beer” she acted like she was surprised her husband was standing there right off camera, and then thanked him for being there, in their house.”

  2. Good PR is what it takes. Have the public blaming the D’s for every illegal alien crime committed, every communicable disease carrier that crosses the border, get news out what illegals are costing municipalities.
    That’s the ticket.

  3. As long as the polls continue to say a lot more people blame Trump over democrats for the shutdown the dems are happy.

  7. I hope President Trump is having a presentation prepared to present to the American people in a Presidential Address to the country. Show videos of what is going on at the southern border. What the cost is to the country and how lax policies contribute to attracting illegals to the U. S.

      1. Many will. When covered by all news cable stations where many viewers are during the evening. A Presidential address is covered by all news stations and ABC stations as well.

    1. This is the Congress’ doing. They set the standard of what is essential or not in Gov agencies. Notice they exempt themselves, when it should be them to not get get paid. All of us should be onour phones demanding the include themselves in a shut down. There is another consideration, Gov is too bloated and should be trimmed down.

      1. Please click on the ABC link and see who is not being paid. I agree with your comment, and I have my reps. on blast, but this is coming down to a battle of egos and power and has little to do with people and issues. And these are just “the folks” like us—-not the DC elite.

  8. The pundits and her own daughter are giving Pelosi too much credit. My bets are on POTUS……playing games (any game including “chicken”) with him is going to really test her.

  9. I like the way Trump has these meetings open to the public…shows how the sausage is made…Has any other POTUS done that?…

    1. wish we could have seen the meeting today when Pelosi interrupted Homeland Security presentation because Chuck told her to……

  10. Since democrats are worried about federal workers not getting paid why aren’t those rich members of the house and senate spreading their wealth around to those federal workers off work due to shutdown?

      1. They are no doubt trying to build up her image (right before her death) with the tribute movie that’s in theaters now.

  11. Romney – just because you have been around longer than many of your current peers have been alive, doesn’t mean you have an automatic right to show your ignorance. Try to learn how to work with others – especially Pres. Trump who is apparently giving you a second chance. Don’t blow your chance.

  12. IT is time for the war cry “if not for you then not for us.” Enough of these elected officials to exempt themselves from the laws they pass. ALL LAWS. It is time to make that heard and call all reps. Sick of these House and Senate Rules.

  13. on a side note::::

Daryl Dragon, the cap-wearing “Captain” of pop band The Captain and Tennille who teamed with then-wife Toni Tennille on such easy listening hits as “Love Will Keep Us Together” and “Muskrat Love,” died Wednesday at age 76.

  14. Senator Dick Durbin

No end in sight to the President’s government shutdown. He’s taken our government hostage over his outrageous demand for a $5 billion border wall that would be both wasteful and ineffective.

    12:55 PM – Dec 27, 2018

    1. How do all these Dems know it would work, yet knew that Obama care would. “We Have to build it to know if it works.” Ask Nancy.

  15. Harry Reid is near death from cancer. Still, like all evil democrats, manages to do what they do best (ie project). From his death bed says Trump is amoral and has no conscience. Just described democrats perfectly. Go toward the red light Harry, you snake.

    1. he gave senator Hassan $15 million to over come Kelly Ayotte in NH race
Dsouza didn’t do that much and he went to jail

  16. No one should have a job where their employment is guaranteed. This is when you get lazy inefficient and non productive people.

      1. I don’t know what jobs you have worked at but no place I know of but gov jobs one can not be fired for not doing the job they were paid to do.

  17. After Romney’s shallow performance in running for prez I really don’t think he has much room to be saying how well someone else is doing.

    1. He will walking around Congressthere like the Rooster of the henhouse. Like someone for whom we have been waiting. The accuse DJT of divisiveness yet Obama the Racist got awaay with doing just that.

  18. Sometimes people have to go through the bad to appreciate the good. We are spoiled in this country and instead of appreciating what we have people tend to demand what they have no right to.

    1. Well… 4 spoonfulls of sugar in a cup of piss n’ vinegar still wont overcome the sour taste. 🙂 (just sayin) (after watching what he said I was appalled at his backbiting… he should be above that)

      1. women who come across with border crossing cards go home with US birth certificates…any Monday at the downtown bridge you can see all these kids coming over with their TX card stating they were born in the US

  19. Don’t go dishing out a pity party for gov workers..They are no better than anyone else. If they want a paycheck tell Nancy and Chucky to provide the money for the wall otherwise get a part time job..

    1. what is this hatred for government workers…they come in and do a job every day just like everyone else

Many took a downgrade to work for the government, some are brilliant and yes there are dullards….but they have families also…I hope they file for unemployment

      1. Yes, and border patrol shouldn’t have to work without a paycheck and “get a part time job” to buy groceries.

        1. or crawl through those drainage ditches in El Paso that detour the water that comes off those mountains to the Rio Grande that illegals crawl into

            1. Everyone no matter who is affected will get paid once the gov opens again. If they want it sooner than later they need to pressure Pelosi and Chuck..After all they are the ones saying NO money for the border

                  1. They are essential personnel and that means they still have to report to work. They still receive no check until the government reopens and then they get back pay

                    1. I worked the border through a gov shut down…four shut downs all together in my career and i got paid each and every time

                    2. “The end of 2018 marks the beginning of work without pay for the approximately 54,000 federal border agents and customs officers who received their last paycheck over the weekend.

Of an estimated 60,000 personnel at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, 90 percent were deemed essential and have been working since Department of Homeland Security funding lapsed Dec. 21, according to a congressional report. CBP would not comment on the exact figure when asked Monday.

CBP personnel at its Border Patrol, Air and Marine Operations, and Office of Field Operations components were paid between Dec. 29-30 for time worked prior to the shutdown, but the date of their next paycheck remains a mystery.”

                    3. Over 54,000 Border Patrol and U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents will continue working with no remuneration until the government shutdown ends, whereas clerical and nonessential staff are not working, Democratic Representative Henry Cuellar, of Texas, said, according to Laredo Morning Times and Associated Press. They will receive back pay for their time worked, Cuellar told the publication; however, he added that some of these agents may not be able to make ends meet in the meantime.

I would think those in the offices, etc. not those wearing weapons, but the above says they aren’t getting paid, I wouldn’t go to work

                    4. I lived through 3 strikes at the phone company. We didn’t get paid while on strike (twice for 3 weeks each time) and we didn’t get back pay when the strike was over.

      2. I worked for the gov in the Department of Commerce I don’t hate them. I don’t like people thinking they are special no matter where they work. I can not say I worked with any that could be considered brilliant. I can tell you I worked with many that loafted a lot and they couldn’t be fired..No one should be so special they can not be fired when they aren’t productive.

        1. Commerce is mostly a desk job

go out with the federal agents….like the undercover agent who was selling nuclear triggers to saddam’s agent or FBI and CI A agents…not everybody works a desk

      3. Nobody hates them. Govt workers know a shutdown is always a possibility they should have planned better, putting money aside just in case. Plus they’ll get back pay when the govt reopens.

      4. I don’t hate government workers, I just think they should be working somewhere else. Government is generally too big and interferes in peoples lives, futures and fortunes. The number of these good citizens working outside of government should increase and probably would if the government permanently reduced what they do in areas like education where they don’t belong.

  20. Romney was a terrible disappointment to those of us who voted for him not because we loved him but it was a necessity to vote against Obama’s second term. He had no fight in him and didn’t stand up to the Democrats but slunk away when things got hot. Then his actions and attacks on Trump doomed him to Trump supporters. If he even gave a slight indication that he would challenge Trump he would get the wrath of many Republicans.

    1. “I can give you my answer now. You get nothing and I would take it as a favor if you would put up the fee for the gaming license.” ~ Michael Corleon

      1. Democrats have set themselves up as the good guys willing to work together. Trump better be careful. He doesn’t want Congress getting fed up if this goes too long. The last thing he needs is congress overriding his veto. That would be a career ender.

        1. Trump backed himself into this corner by name calling, bragging, and running his mouth. He loses this battle. The senate will pass the house bill to reopen the government.

                    1. Simple solution really… make it less attractive to come here illegally. eVerify, no benefits, end birthright citizenship. Saves the taxpayer money and you won’t need to build a wall.

                    2. Exactly, we have agreed on that many times. The wall is simply a campaign promise at this point. Democrats are not going to help with that.

                    3. But 60% of Americans agree on the other issues. It’s a good sell if you run a PR campaign on it that doesn’t include Trump.

                    4. Notice that not many are talking about Mueller at this point? That report will be ready soon. I don’t think it will be pretty. Trump will go off the cliff.

                    5. Cut off the $113 billion that illegal aliens cost taxpayers yearly. No free stuff they’ll self deport.

                      We still need a wall.

                  1. Might work in real estate development but does not with congress. He has not figured out that Congress is more powerful than the President.

  21. Sen.-elect Mitt Romney (R-Utah) said Wednesday that he hasn’t decided whether to endorse President Trump in the 2020 election, but ruled out mounting a primary challenge himself.
“I haven’t decided who I’m going to endorse in 2020. I’m going to see what the alternatives are,” Romney said in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper.
“I think it’s early to make that decision, and I want to see what the alternatives are,” he continued. “I pointed out there are places [Trump and I] agree on a whole series of policy fronts, but there are places that I think the president can, if you will, elevate his game and help bring us together a

  22. Trump has really not handled the issue well.. He should give a a National Address where he brings Border agents and gives Americans the facts about the border.

    1. 148 million border crossing cards to 114 million Mexicans
who come over each day, go to the hospital and have US babies, then bring them over in five years for free education, sign up for welfare and healthcare, get jobs, vote, and then ask for residency cards to be with their US kids on the US side of the border.

      1. I make it a point not to listen to him. I read what he’s doing, with no direct quotes because I just want to b!tch slap some freaking sense into him when I do.

  23. Nancy is manipulating her barefoot and ignorant. They are putting up a fake bill tomorrow they know won’t go anywhere to deceive their barefoot and ignorant so she will get elected as Speaker..Goes to show she knows how to work their barefoot and ignorant…

  24. Romney also said:

He praised aligning “U.S. corporate taxes with those of global competitors,” deregulation, cracking down on China’s “unfair” trade practices, criminal justice reform, and appointments of conservative judges.*******

        1. It prohibits titles of nobility and the acceptance of a gift, title, or other benefit from a foreign power.

he doesn’t get the money from his hotel, and all gifts need to be handed over to the gov or placed in libraries, etc.

    1. That won’t pass. They just want to see Trump’s tax returns and his tax returns are none of the democRATS business. Why are democRATS so obsessed with Trump’s tax returns? There isn’t anything illegal on them. The IRS would NOT let Trump get away with anything shady.

      1. And then pay their back taxes… I WANT EVERYONE WHO OWES TO PAY AND DO SO WITHIN 90 days…. I only care about the line that shows me how much one owes. I don’t care about anything else. There is so much owed in back taxes and no one does anything about it. Now is time.. Collect the money.

  25. Political INsider
Presumptive House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Democrat Party leadership are calling for a vote on a House rules package that will include a pay-as-you-go provision, PayGo, requiring new spending to be offset either by budget cuts or tax increases.
The inclusion of this common sense rule has prompted the more radical wing of the party to express outrage, as well as an accidental admission that their far-left programs cannot be paid for.The issue becomes the first battle between party leadership and the socialist wing of the party, as Representatives Ro Khanna of California and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York have vowed to oppose Pelosi by voting ‘no.’

    1. DemocRATS sure do love those tax increases, it gives them more money to waste on their pet projects. Trump’s tax cuts were made permanent.

  26. Schumer was willing to spend $45 billion years ago and not $5 billion today

A National ID card is cheaper but what do they know they never saw what drives through our border ports of entry each day…its so easy to get into the US…they don’t all come through the desert….

  27. Hey Dems he told you no money for the wall no bill…Even the media ask them why pass a bill with no money for the wall when they know it won’t go anywhere. The media finally is asking the right questions….

    1. Scalise had to take over the conversation McCarthy was so weak and ineffective in his comments…

        1. Knew that from the get go. He is no different than P. Ryan. Jim Jordan is who we need. Someone , knowledgeable, assertive, follows through and is for our country and it’s people. We are going to have the same problem as before. He will not be on Trumps side…

    1. What a slime-bag!!! And while we’re at it, what is it with Nanny chewing her left cheek all the time? Bad dentures? Cough drops? Nerves?

        1. If it’s nerves (which I vote for), she’s gonna have a hole in her cheek before Trump is done with her! Right now, she has Chunkie to protect her and jump right in. btw- anyone else notice how Chunkie and Nanny literally pushed Steny away from the dais while he was trying to answer a few questions? They are absolute control freaks…. and one has to wonder if ALL the Dims really are in total lockstep with them or just scared to death of the rath of the Chunkie/Nanny machine?

            1. I think so, too…. however if there’s not an affair behind the scenes, he certainly hovers over her like a mother hen! (Could be she’s easy to manipulate… like Svengali!)

    1. Not to disparage the Angel Mom’s…but I bet most never gave illegal immigration a second thought….’till it hit home…

  28. The pharmaceuticals are raising prices on many drugs they know they can buy off the Dems in the House.

  29. The left wing reporters who were at the meeting kept asking Trump the same question about Mitt .. They are so predictable.. I do not know how Trump does not see right through their tactics. They just want Trump to say something negative about Mitt so they can have a negative headline to write.

  30. “The Trump presidency made a deep descent in December,” Romney opened his op-ed Tuesday.
He acknowledged his opposition to Trump in the 2016 presidential election, claimed that he had early hope for Trump’s presidency, then lamented that “on balance, his conduct over the past two years, particularly his actions this month, is evidence that the president has not risen to the mantle of the office.”
Romney acknowledged that Trump had enacted “policies mainstream Republicans have promoted for years.*************************” He praised aligning “U.S. corporate taxes with those of global competitors,” deregulation, cracking down on China’s “unfair” trade practices, criminal justice reform, and appointments of conservative judges.******************
But he went on to assail Trump’s character: “With the nation so divided, resentful and angry, presidential leadership in qualities of character is indispensable. And it is in this province where the incumbent’s shortfall has been most glaring.”
Moving on to American economic and military leadership in the world, Romney said, “Trump’s words and actions have caused dismay around the world,” citing poll data.
“To reassume our leadership in world politics, we must repair failings in our politics at home,” Romney charged. “That project begins, of course, with the highest office once again acting to inspire and unite us. It includes political parties promoting policies that strengthen us rather than promote tribalism by exploiting fear and resentment.”

Romney called for “setting a course to a balanced budget” and linking arms with other nations. He suggested, as the U.K. moves to leave the European Union, “We want a unified and strong Europe, not a disintegrating union. We want stable relationships with the nations of Asia that strengthen our mutual security and prosperity.”
The failed 2012 Republican presidential nominee and former Massachusetts governor relentlessly lambasted Trump during the 2016 presidential election. When time came for the 2018 midterm elections and Romney made his way to Utah to run for the U.S. Senate, president Trump chose to endorse him — and Romney accepted.
Romney looked forward in the op-ed to working with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), but warned that when it comes to the president, “I will speak out against significant statements or actions that are divisive, racist, sexist, anti-immigrant, dishonest or destructive to democratic institutions.”

  31. Listening to One America News
just mentioned the four or five things Romney said he liked what Trump did on regulations, prison reform, etc.
    you see lies of omission
we only hear what the media wants us to hear, just the negativity

    1. I heard on outnumber the good things mentioned as well but like you said the media focuses on the negative. That is where Trump does not know how to make a counter argument when he was asked in the meeting he should have said that Romney did mention very good things he has done.

  32. 5. Seriousness of national immigration problem
How serious a problem is illegal immigration in the U.S. as a whole?
Gender Age (4 category) Race (4 category)
Total Male Female 18-29 30-44 45-64 65+ White Black Hispanic Other
    Very serious 40% 41% 39% 24% 35% 46% 54% 45% 26% 27% 41%

    High numbers

  33. Compromises to get
    things done. 65% 61% 68% 61% 62% 65% 73% 65% 62% 67% 65%

These are very high numbers/ People want both Parties to compromise.

  34. Dems better not count Trump out as of yet. His poll numbers are still pretty steady..

President Trump Job Approval Economist/YouGov Approve 45, Disapprove 53 Disapprove +8

    1. Don’t believe in polls. You know those done on him are skewed. I don’t like them when they are good or bad. I can see what the country and how the country is doing.

          1. I do. All the way around. Thinking of removing the one between house and pond. It is kind of invisible, but leaves collect at the base on both sides.

  35. If anyone thinks the democrats will emerge from the meeting willing to give Trump the five billion, I just listed a bridge you might be interested in

    1. They have the upper hand. Trump doesn’t have the skill nor advisers to turn it to his advantage but it could be done.

      1. I think he can negotiate… but he needs backup from his advisors who know (or should know) how to maneuver through the swamp of regulations and people. He obviously had little to work with with Republican House!

          1. I understand that, of course. But he’s had very little backup from his own party., Sad. He needs “skeletons in closets” so he can play Nanny’s and Chunkie’s game they way they are playing it.

            1. Mot really. Democrats don’t care about DACA, it’s just a bludgeon they like to use when convenient.

            2. This Daca Bs is a bunch we can do without. Who are they, more preying on our economy. I say no to all immigrants who are not self supporting. In fact I say no to immigrants for the next 10 years. Period..

        1. There needs to be no negotiating the security of the U.S…. National security is paramount…Dem…libs …proggies…I have more respect for pond scum…

    2. Maybe by attending this meeting they can save face with their base by telling them that they were briefed by Border Patrol agents and there is a need for a barrier.

  36. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is ready to take a stand — against her own party.
When Democrats take over the House on Thursday the New York Rep.-elect will defy presumptive House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and vote against a rules package that includes a pay-as-you-go provision, requiring all new spending be offset with either budget cuts or tax increases.
The “paygo” provision would make implementing progressive programs such as Medicare for All or tuition-free college harder, experts warn. The rule requires a three-fifths supermajority vote to raise individual income taxes on the bottom 80% of Americans.
Ocasio-Cortez joined Rep.-elect Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) in voicing opposition to the proposal on Wednesday.

  37. what did romney hope to gain….attention that he has arrived? that he want to talk to the left wing media so he bashed Trump?
    don’t get this action

  38. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) predicted on Wednesday that there isn’t an “appetite” for a 2020 White House bid by incoming Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), whose recent criticism of President Trump is fueling talk of a potential primary challenge.

“I don’t think there’s an appetite for a Romney run within the Republican Party,” Paul told reporters during a conference call on Wednesday, asked if Romney should “declare his intentions” for 2020.

  39. what a mess in Denmark, a tarp came off some of their freight and caused car accidents on a road running along side.

  40. The house democrats are preparing to remove the debt limit so they can press forward with an aggressive liberal spending programs.

  41. If you go to the wall donation site on go fund me, there is a little graphic that shows how much 18 million is toward the goal…you quickly realize how much a billion dollars really is…and then you realize how much a trillion is…omg.

  42. well I am going to take my TAINTED blood pressure medication …
cause even though it “might” be tainted… I have to have it…

and people wonder why I do not really trust doctors or pharmacy companies…

      1. it was… or so they said at the time…
I did get a notice… but it went to my son’s house… LOL
so tomorrow, I am taking it to the pharmacy see what happens…

          1. my doc was the last to be notified the last time…
they changed it… I said, “What does this one carry? the black plague?”

so I will find out tomorrow…

  43. Since the police in Kalifornia are not allowed to tell ICE when an illegal is getting out of jail…ICE needs to be posted at every police station…

    1. you would think they would feel differently and try work around their liberal bosses’ orders when an illegal kills one of their own

  44. Already talking about next presidential election. I’m tired of constant politicking. But, if dems are doing that, the republicans should be talking every day about ‘taking back the House’.

    1. YES. This is going to get worse before it gets better. We have to hold fast and work hard to expose them. They are doing everything they can to take down our president. We have to get mean!

        1. THEIR goals are tantamount. Like Nancy said…’collateral damage’ is just too bad. For those who disagree.

  45. The 3 p.m. gathering will be in the secure room in the White House basement where military operations are tracked and other sensitive discussions unfold, a conscious effort by Mr. Trump and his aides to infuse a sense of national-security crisis into the immigration discussion.

  46. Nikki Haley slams UNESCO as ‘corrupt and politically biased’ as US, Israel officially quit UN agency

    Nikki Haley

UNESCO is among the most corrupt and politically biased UN agencies. Today the U.S. withdrawal from this cesspool became official. #USStrong

    8:19 PM – Jan 1, 2019

        1. because he’s not vocal…
yet anything he might say will be used against him… remember when he mentioned God… the view called him a religious nut… yet when oprah said “if God sent her a message, she would run for pres” THAT was okay… she wasn’t a religious loon…

        2. They posted the pic of the last meeting with dems and Trump with Pence sitting in the background and complained he said nothing. I just ignored it

      1. “moments ago” all the people in the conference room were listening to Nielsen and he is commenting on her video…
        he’s still talking

    1. Wasting taxpayers money. Over $25 M wasted by Mueller, now they want to waste more for nothing. Disgusting people…

          1. Diaz, too, but I’ll spare you the details. Private conversation. I’d copy and paste it here if I could. I never will.

    1. I pledge, as a Trump supporter, that I will never support Mitt McCain no matter the circumstances. He is a self-promoting back stabber and I won’t be fooled again like with his brother John.

    1. Romney is exactly like McCain…Out there to get attention for himself and is nothing more then a Lifetime Politician, feeding off the taxpayers money…

    2. it wouldn’t have mattered… if numb-nuts-romney feels this way… he would have voted against President Trump… now it’s in open… and it just might make n-n-romney think about voting “FOR” ..

  47. In the reinvigorated feud between her uncle, Mitt Romney, and her boss, President Donald Trump, Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel has picked a side: the president’s.

McDaniel was critical of Romney, referring to him in a post to Twitter only as “an incoming Republican freshman senator.” Romney, who will be sworn in as a senator from Utah later this week, authored a scathing op-ed published Tuesday by The Washington Post in which he wrote that Trump “has not risen to the mantle” of the presidency.

  48. LOL this has got to be a blunder for the NY Slime but then most people wouldn’t even have given it a second thought..

The New York Times apologized for including a racial slur “beaner” in crossword puzzle on Tuesday, as the editor responsible said his staff lives in “rarefied circles” and was therefore oblivious that the word is considered offensive.

  49. Romney never did explain why he rolled over and gave Obama the election..We don’t need that kind of candidate again..

    1. and I believe he wanted to be Prez, because his father couldn’t be…..thinking cheating by the left beat Romney….no way he should have lost…

    2. It was pre-determined that Obama would win another 4 years…It was decided that Obama would win the first four years…Same with the Bushs and with Clinton…They decided Hillary would win but we went out in force and elected Trump…The Powers that Be decide and their heads are still spinning that the voters finally had a say so…

  50. For TWO years the Republicans had the House the Senate and the Presidency…..blame Romney all you want but
Mitch and Ryan didn’t capitalize on the favor ability in the congress for republicans to get things accomplished….

  51. After Romney messed up his run against Obama does he really think the R’s would support him again…WRONG

  52. Newt Gingrich said the Senate “does not care who you used to be” and Romney will not get special treatment because he was the GOP presidential nominee in 2012.
“He needs to learn how the Senate works. … He’ll just plain lose. You can’t take Trump on in his own party. It’s not possible”.

  53. Democrats aren’t used to Republicans not caving to them. For the first time in a long time we have a president who’s working hard to deliver everything he promised.

  54. Paul Ryan Builds Border Fence Around His Mansion, Not U.S.

While Paul Ryan’s omnibus spending bill does not provide funding for the mandatory completion of a 700-mile double-layer border fence that Congress promised the American people nearly a decade ago when it passed the 2006 Secure Fence Act, Paul Ryan has constructed a fence around his property.https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2015/12/17/paul-ryan-builds-border-fence-around-mansion-doesnt-fund-border-fence-omnibus/

He is for himself. He’s a shapeshifter. He says and does what he needs to do for self-preservation. I don’t think he has a real moral center.”

We don’t need walls we need bridges….

The second span of the Mario M. Cuomo Bridge opened this week despite controversy surrounding the Cuomo administration’s involvement in pushing its completion date. (Kevin Coughlin/Office of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo)
Ahead of Thursday’s New York State primary, news has come out that in July Governor Andrew Cuomo’s administration might have enticed the contractor building the new Mario M. Cuomo Bridge to speed up construction in order to finish it ahead of its late August deadline. The 1.3-mile bridge opened late last night instead, two days before voters hit the polls. Critics are claiming that Cuomo rushed the bridge’s construction, potentially dangerously so, in order to tout its completion during his competitive primary race against Cynthia Nixon.
