  1. So, what’s Romney doing with his op-ed? Nothing useful. In fact, he’s doing something seriously counterproductive. If Senator Romney wants to sound off against Trump’s excesses and character flaws, he should be all means do so in response to Trump’s tweets or statements or actions. But by forcing a “Love Trump or Leave Trump” choice on Republicans, he’s actually doing the work of both the most ardent Trumpists and the most viciously antagonistic members of the Democratic party and the media.

  2. Boy even Pelosi’s daughter knows she’s a bit ch of the lowest order…

Nancy Pelosi’s daughter did not mince words Wednesday when she was asked about her mother’s leadership style.

“She’ll cut your head off and you won’t even know you’re bleeding,” Alexandra Pelosi bluntly told CNN in an interview Wednesday morning. “That’s all you need to know about her.”

    1. hmmm…. Marie Antoinette thought the same thing… until…. ooops they stopped eating those “crumbs” and did something about it…

    2. lol, she was a guest recently on c-span’s WJ (another documentary) and she does not like being referred to as ‘Pelosi’s daughter’.

  3. The answer to the second question is pretty obviously no, barring impeachable activity on Trump’s part. Here’s how an actual primary campaign against Trump from Romney or anyone else would play out. The primarying candidate would declare him- or herself superior in character to Trump (which would probably be true), a better representative of conservatism than Trump (which could be true in theory but probably wouldn’t be true in policy terms), and a more likely 2020 victor (which would likely be false). On the first count, Republican voters would look the other way just as they did in 2016, having learned the lesson that character doesn’t matter — ironically enough, from 2012 Mitt Romney, whose sterling character plus five bucks bought him a cup of coffee in that election cyc

  4. He’s forcing a ‘Love Trump or Leave Trump’ choice on Republicans.
The essay, in truth, reads like the opener of a presidential campaign. It’s a stock speech replete with broad recommendations on policy (more strength in foreign policy, a call to “repair our fiscal foundation”) and ersatz optimism (“I remain optimistic about our future . . . noble instincts live in the hearts of Americans”). Romney states that Americans “will eschew the politics of anger and fear if they are summoned to the responsibility by leaders in homes, in churches, in schools, in businesses, in government.” Presumably, Romney considers himself such a possible leader.

  5. Hey Mitt even your niece sees through you….

RNC Chair Ronna McDaniels on Wednesday called out her “freshman senator” uncle Mitt Romney for attacking President Trump & “feeding” the Democrats and media.

McDaniels called Romney’s attack on Trump “disappointing & unproductive.”

  6. Trump should not say Mexico is paying for the wall through the trade deal.. He does not need to anger Mexico right now.

  7. The World Is Getting Quietly, Relentlessly Better.https://www.wsj.com/

If you spent 2018 mainlining misery about global warming, inequality, populism or other anxieties, here is some good news, Greg Ip writes. The world got better last year, and it is going to get even better this year. 155

    1. I disagree with AF because I think MR knows exactly what he wants and has aligned himself with those who want the same.

Democrats wrap their destruction in compassion for all. See who gets the Pay Off.

    1. day one….
is there a way to teach the kindergartners the difference between an immigrant and an ILLEGAL INVADER???

  8. Romney says he will speak out against statements that are sexists, homophobic and anti immigrants.. I would say that is exactly what the left says about Trump.

  9. It’s time to march again. And this time, we’re coming back with an agenda.

On January 19, 2019, we’re going to flood the streets of Washington, D.C., and cities across the globe. The #WomensWave is coming, and we’re sweeping the world forward with us.

The 2017 Women’s March inspired hundreds of women to run,
millions more to vote, and dozens to win elected office. The 2019
Women’s March marks two years of resistance to the Trump presidency, two
years of training new activists, and two years of building power. And
this time, we’re coming back with an agenda.

  10. Mitt is in for a huge shock when he goes on CNN today. They will bring up some of his previous statements after he met with Trump at Trump Tower when he was being considered for Sec of State.Theleft is going to remind him very quickly that he is not their friend either.

                    1. You really believe Romney won’t do as I said? It’s an easy escape. He IS on their side you know.

  11. Big fight coming up between the Dems Thursday. Proggies want to dispense with “PayGo”, part of the 1990 “Budget Reconciliation Act of 1990. They want “Medicare for all” passed NOW!!!

      1. Pay as you Go. If you add things to the budget you have to cut something or show where the funding is coming from. Pelosi is getting blow back from the socialists.

          1. There will be more than 18 democrats that vote to keep PayGo. Ocasio Cortez isn’t getting her $3.5 trillion for free healthcare. Not this year.

                    1. Farrakhan is in the Women’s March ideology, too. Intersectionality….once again ‘eating their own’.

  12. I bet the media will not show the video of Romney showing him saying he was very impressed with Trump after his meeting at Trump tower.
“I had a wonderful evening with President-elect Trump,” the former Massachusetts governor declared to the press after a final course of chocolate cake. “We had another discussion about affairs throughout the world, and these discussions I’ve had with him have been enlightening, and interesting and engaging.”

“What I’ve seen through these discussions I’ve had with President-elect Trump, as well as what we’ve seen in his speech the night of his victory, as well as the people he’s selected as part of his transition, all of those things combined give me increasing hope that President-elect Trump is the very man who can lead us to that better future,” he added.

  13. This is my opinion but I think too many big investors are liberals and they are trying to destroy the stock market so that average Americans 401k and IRA take a hit and try to blame it on Trump

  14. In his letter, Williams asked fellow RNC committee members to issue a statement at their Winter Meeting this month declaring that Trump will be the party’s presidential nominee in 2020.

He also wants to close what he calls ‘loopholes’ in the nominating process that Romney, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and outgoing Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake, all anti-Trump GOP moderates, could use to weaken the president in primary elections and caucuses.

‘Look, the political history is clear. No Republican president opposed for re-nomination has ever won re-election,’ he wrote.

‘While President Trump would win re-nomination it wouldn’t come quick and it wouldn’t be inexpensive. Any contested re-nomination campaign—even a forlorn hope—would only help Democrats.’

Williams is a native of Antigua & Barbuda who earned U.S. citizenship through a dozen years of Army National Guard service.

In 2015 and 2016 he ran a presidential primary campaign in the U.S. Virgin Islands for onetime Trump rival Ben Carson, who is now secretary of of Housing and Urban Developm

  15. With Republicans like him who needs Democrats?’ Republican National Committee member launches GOP civil war with anti-Romney letter hinting he’ll chase ‘fantasy of being president’ by challenging Trump in 2020

A member of the Republican National Committee claimed Tuesday night in a letter to the other 167 committee members that Mitt Romney’s anti-Donald Trump op-ed published hours earlier was an act of ‘calculated political treachery’ against the president.

Jevon O.A. Williams, the RNC member who represents the U.S. Virgin Islands, wrote that Romney could use ‘loopholes’ in the nominating process to openly challenge the president’s re-nomination in 2020.

That, he wrote, would feed Romney’s ‘fantasy of being president, even if that means destroying our party and denying President Trump re-election.’

‘With Republicans like him who needs Democrats?’ Williams added. He confirmed in a phone call Wednesday morning that he sent the email but declined further comment.

        1. The single most incompetent dr. I ever worked with was a Harvard undergrad/ med school grad. The 6 year program at that. It made a big impression on me as a hick and it’s never steered me wrong.

  16. ‘The following is based on initial operational reporting.

‘Last night, an approximately 150 migrants attempted to illegally enter the United States by climbing over and crawling under border fence in San Diego Sector.

‘Due to CBP’s increased presence, a first group of 45 turned back towards Mexico.

‘Shortly thereafter, migrants began throwing rocks over the fence at the CBP agents and officers.

‘Several teenagers, wrapped in heavy jackets, blankets and rubber mats were put over the concertina wire.

‘Border Patrol agents witnessed members of the group attempt to lift toddler sized children up and over the concertina wire and having difficulty accomplishing the task in a safe manner.

‘Agents were not in a position to safely assist the children due to the large number of rocks being thrown at them.

‘To address the rock throwers assaulting agents and risking the safety of migrants attempting to cross who were already on the U.S. side, both smoke and minimal countermeasures were deployed.

‘Agents deployed smoke, pepper spray and CS gas to a position upwind of the rock throwers and south of the border fence.

‘The deployments were not directed at the migrants attempting entry on the U.S. side or at the fence line.

‘The rock throwers were located south of the fence, in an elevated position both above the border fence area and the incursion attempt.

‘These countermeasures successfully suppressed the rock throwers causing them to flee the area.

‘Most of the migrants attempting the incursion, to include those with children, returned to Mexico via a hole under the fence and by climbing over the fence.

‘No agents witnessed any of the migrants at the fence line, including children, experiencing effects of the chemical agents, which were targeted at the rock throwers further away.

  17. Why do so many people dislike President Trump?
    1>> He gets things done.
2>> He does what he says.
3>> He is beholden to ‘no one’.
4>> He speaks what he thinks – co-incidentally,what most of us think.
5>> He knows how to deal with people.
6>> He is not Presidential, he knows how to be President.
7>> Many in Congress (both sides of the aisle) receive money and gifts for things they do for special interest groups.

Feel free to add to this list.

    1. but … but … he was a joke… he was not “suppose” to win… let alone DO what he said he wanted to do…

  18. There should be enhanced punishments on NYE and July 4th for the nitwits firing their guns into the air and the stray bullets hitting innocents.

    1. Using that “she’ll cut your head off” is a pretty bad choice of words. Sounds like an ISIS fighter. Her way, no compromise, death to opponent.

    2. And Maxine has repeatedly said she will tank the economy in order to take out Trump. And now she’s in a position to do so.

    1. I heard part of his blabbering last night. I couldn’t decide if he were running for Governor of the once Empire State called New York, or if he was running for POTUS…
Either way, he is scary: worse than Bernie, because he probably has more years left than ‘the bern’.

  19. I have petty grievances, too, probably prayed for Patience not realizing the practice I would get. I work at recognizing that fact.

  20. I hate being in the position of taking up for the Mormon Church, but Mitt doesn’t speak for the Mormons any more than Harry Reid did. Or any more than Nancy speaks for the Catholics. Or Shumer speaks for the Jews.

      1. We damned near voted for Beto. Utah wanted another high profile senator, which is what they’ll get. And the democrat was out of the question.

          1. Yes, but that’s what most elections boil down to IMO. I rarely have the privilege of voting for someone who I truly support. I would have voted for anyone over Hillary,

              1. Not a lot of good choices in those clown cars as I recall, kind of like the dems that are lining up. As POTUS says— we just need to enjoy the ride, watch them eat their young. It’s going to be tremendously entertaining.

                1. Happening now to my amusement because of the insane Intersectionality. Womens’ March stopped because too many Whites. Dems have us in so many Sections few people can belong to ONE section. Hilarious to watch. A kind of ‘eating their own’.

    1. People are a representation of their beliefs and religion that is a fact. If you are not then you are a fake.

  21. Today I mourn the great state of Maine. Over the last eight years it thrived because of our governors policies. Today a liberal woman will destroy all Governor’s LePage’s hard work. RIP OPEN FOR BUSINESS MAINE

  22. the Mormon Church should separate itself from this blatant liar… he does not speak well for their religion …

  23. Islam and democracy don’t mesh. In fact, religion and democracy don’t
mesh. That is the key thing to understanding why “freedom of religion”
is such an integral part of the Constitution. Our country is a society built on freedom. While all our freedoms are spectacular, I believe that the greatest of them is freedom of religion. As stated in the first Amendment to the United States Constitution, freedom of religion prevents our government from forcing citizens to practice any single kind of religion.

    1. Christianity may be the only religion outside of Buddhism that can work with democracy. The key is found in the New Testament parables. You strive to be Christ like in your life. Unlike Christianity of old we don’t strive to spread all over the globe. The founding fathers were products of the “Age of Enlightenment”, far smarter than anybody in DC today.

        1. You’ve got to understand the Bible, not just recite verse. The apple in the Garden of Eden wasn’t an apple, it was fruit from the “Tree of Knowledge”. Mans original sin wasn’t eating fruit, it was being human. The Seven Deadly sins can’t be legislated away just because liberals think they can.

              1. You “eat from the Tree of Knowledge” you know mankinds inherent weaknesses. Liberals like to think they can be legislated away to create a perfect world, they can’t.

                    1. We know the waters in Egypt didn’t really run red with blood, it was poisonous red algae.

                    2. The Bible is the “history of mankind”, you just have to figure out what it actually is.

                    3. I’ve said before the Old Testament dietary laws don’t really have anything to do with homage to Yahwe…It’s actually the first health department. Shell fish from the Mediterranean are loaded with heavy metals, they still are. We all know about pork and trichinosis.

                    4. The “pillar of fire” that allowed Moses to escape the Pharaoh? It’s simple….build a giant fire in the night between you and your enemy giving him night blindness and you escape into the darkness.

                    5. One of the statements frequently heard spoken by men of religion is, “God meant by that verse…”. Turned me right OFF.

                    6. Religion is man made for those whose tendency towards the “seven deadly sins” are to much to fight. Government by it’s very nature attracts those sorts of people.

                    7. I sure as hell don’t need moral and ethics lectures from the likes of Joe Scarborough or Jim Comey.

    1. There is nothing else to say but Mitt Romney is a traitor of the worst kind and a back stabber, seditionist, coward and he should be damned to hell where he belongs. The foolish people from Utah are a disgrace for voting him into the Senate because he is an obstructionist and resistor just like the Democratic Communists and because of their ignorance -they are promoting the immorality and lawlessness and wanton violence of the extremist Democrats.

  24. Mitt has been hired by Tom Steyer, Soros, and the NeoCons to do what Mueller, the FBI, and the DOJ can’t do.

    1. I think you are right. It is really ugly. They also had Fed chief messing with the interest rates to tank the markets.

  25. Dems…libs…proggies…calling the wall immoral…but think it’s ok to murder the unborn…I can’t wrap my head around that logic..or the lack thereof…

  27. The funny thing about the governor being gunned down in Mexico is a few years ago the people in that state rose up against the cartel. They were ambushing cartel members and taking their weapons and using them for even bigger ambushes. They had the cartel on the run. When the drug money quit flowing, the Mexican federal troops showed up and took the weapons from the people. That put the cartels back in biz. And the drug money flowed again to the politicians.

  28. Romney has an interview with CNN coming up..Now people will see what he covered up to get elected. He’s a disgrace to the people who voted for him and the party that he ran on..

      1. He never intended to support Trump’s agenda he’s supporting his own. He is preparing himself to run against Trump…

        1. I will not vote for him..I know Trump has flaws but his policies are the ones I voted for plain and simple. As long as Trump is delivering on his promises,I will vote to re-elect him.

  30. Editor’s Note: Here’s what Rashida Tlaib and other Muslims who want to swear in on Jefferson’s Koran won’t tell you: Jefferson got it so that he might understand his enemies and defeat them, which were Islamists like Tlaib. America would be wise to do the same instead of believing there is such a thing as “moderate” Islam and that “jihad” is anything other than a holy war against non-Muslims and hypocritical Muslims. The first step in defeating Islam is to actually acknowledge what it is: A doctrine of demons political/religious system inspired by a demon-possessed, pedophile, desert nomad. The question I have is, why are we accommodating our enemies? Muslims were at the beginning of America… they were our enemies, not our friends.

    1. Islam and democracy don’t mesh. In fact, religion and democracy don’t mesh. That is the key thing to understanding why “freedom of religion” is such an integral part of the Constitution.

      1. The reason we do not have more problems with this population in our country is that there are not that many of them in our country yet. They would try to change our laws to fit their religion.

    1. I can wait… cause I don’t care… they are what they are… if they have a problem with what they are… it is theirs deal with… I don’t care

    1. THERE’S my wall !!!!!! only taller… that wire? from the top all the way to the top and into the bushes at a slant and down ON BOTH SIDES… pipes 20 feet into the ground less than a foot apart

      /l <like that

  31. I do not understand why some Rep. do not learn their lesson.Mitt was smeared by the left when he ran for President did he forget that?

  32. Chuck Schumer calling illegal aliens “criminals,” saying that if someone cared “about America” then they would want “fewer illegal immigrants”

Chuck Schumer said in 2009 that construction of hundreds of miles of fencing along the southern border made the border “far more secure” because it created a “significant barrier to illegal immigration.”

  33. Brad Parscale

The truth is @MittRomney lacked the ability to save this nation. @realDonaldTrump has saved it. Jealously is a drink best served warm and Romney just proved it. So sad, I wish everyone had the courage @realDonaldTrump had…

  34. lol Cohen with CNN threatened to have their press pass pulled for not giving up a clear umbrella at Times Square while those across the street at Univision are allowed to keep theirs,

      1. I can’t believe people who voted for him thought he was going to be different than he was while following McCain.

            1. I know Friesian horses…I would love to have one if I had the $$…I think the most beautiful horse in the world…

    1. Plagal Cadence. Plagal cadence
is when a subdominant chord solves directly in the tonic, without
passing through the dominant. It can be a sequence II – I or IV – I.

      1. Yes… Using a sub-dominate works to transition to a chord that is diatonic to the key but is not itself diatonic. Be careful jamming over that chord though, very tricky.

          1. Composers don’t generally write “modal” music. You have to understand chord theory and chord progressions to conceptualize it. If I played the “E” Phyrgian scale over a “C” chord it wouldn’t sound exotic at all, just run of the mill tune.

                    1. I used “mathematics” to grasp it. Take a particular mode and calculate all seven of the diatonic chords.

                    2. I’ve taken tests. I’m slap dab in the middle. I think that means crap at both. Not really.

                    3. Maybe…but Steve Stein has an excellent Youtube video lesson, 15 minutes, of the concept of chord theory and diatonic chords.

                    4. Some people say not to relate the modes to the “Parent Tonic”. Instead of thinking “What Key is it in”, think, “what’s the tonal center”.

        1. He said a couple years ago…conservatives were not welcome in NYS….if there were a mass exodus of conservatives in NYS…there would be NO tax base…

  35. My friend Jonah Goldberg has prompted me to think a bit about the issue of character as it relates to public service. Jonah thinks that Donald Trump is a man of bad character. He’s written this several times, most recently, I believe, at National Review where he puts it negatively: it is an “obvious truth,” he says, that “President Trump is not a man of good character.”https://amgreatness.com/2018/12/29/jonah-goldberg-and-cardinal-newman/

    1. Jonah thinks by pontificating on character” he gets a free pass at the pearly gate. His mother already sealed his fate however.

  36. Dan Bongino doesn’t hold back on how he feels about Romney!!! TOOK THE WORDS RIGHT OUT OF MY MOUTH!!!! RINO!

      1. my cousin’s facebook page is full of where she goes to eat, every party, everyone she meets every day, she’s exhausting, lol

      1. In that way he is a lot like schumer {who was for the wall before he was against it}. Face changes with the political season and by what he feels will garner votes.

    1. TRUMP needs to put him in his place IMMEDIATELY! He is a Junior Senator! and FAILED PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE!!!!! UTAH MUST BE ON DRUGS!

      1. Romney is a wuss and will be exactly like that with leaders of other countries. They’ll eat him alive. His mission?

      1. As gov. In MA he did an OK job, but when he left. He was seen as an opportunist and only used the state as a stepping stone to bigger things. I would never vote for him again. He thinks he is better than he really is.

  37. Definition of Gordian knot. 1 : an intricate problem especially : a problem insoluble in its own terms —often used in the phrase cut the Gordian knot. 2 : a knot tied by Gordius, king of Phrygia, held to be capable of being untied only by the future ruler of Asia, and cut by Alexander the Great with his sword.

            1. Based on the 3rd degree of the Major scale… Due to it’s flatted 2nd, 3rd, 6th, and 7th it’s very exotic.

  38. The reason why the left sticks together IMO…is because they are incapable of independent thought… critical thought…are told what to say…And can’t think outside the box…

  39. Hahaha Don B is on a rage on Romney I love it.. he is right.. Romney is a fool to think anyone voted for him to trash DJT. sigh What a hypocrite Romney is and Ryan totally let the republicans down stupid move to not remove him from HS whe nhe said he wasn’t running again. 1. Complex knot tied between two upstanding pillars. Alexander the Great was tasked with untying that knot. It proved to be more than he could do so instead of untying it he cut it. The problem with cutting it is that the ends of the knot were applying tension to the upstanding pillars… which was the only thing keeping them from falling. If you cut the Gordian knot the pillars of governance collapse.

    1. My niece was running in the Boston Marathon in 2013 I told her I would come and watch the kids at the end then all go to our relatives home for the night…I got called to jury duty and didn’t go, the case was settled out of court…

He wanted the guy and family to be able to stay across the street from us. I said, “He can live in your neighborhood. Not mine.” He moved. Later his wife begged my husband to help her. I don’t remember if he did. He DID push through their front door and grab the guy…and words were not kind. He had exposed himself as my daughter was in the street about to go someplace in a car.

    1. St Louis County has to. They elected a black county prosecutor whose claim to fame was throwing molotov’s in Ferguson.
